All dark green leafy vegetables including spinach are high in iron - but it's also high in oxalic acid, which inhibits your body's absorption of iron. Vitamin C boosts iron uptake, so if you eat your greens with a vitamin C source such as capsicum or lemon juice, or finish the meal off with fruit, you'll get more iron for your money.
